At BillTrack50, we collect data from a variety of sources. This includes new and updated bills and bill-versions, actions, events, legislators, votes, and executive-branch regulatory data. Bill data update regularly during the day, and so when you look at a bill sheet you can expect the information regarding status and actions for the bills to be up to date to within an hour or so. How current this information is, however, does depend on how quickly the states update their websites, as our data is based on the information they post.
While the information about bills in your bill sheet will update during the day, new bills that match your query terms will only be automatically added overnight. If you need to update a bill sheet during the day and see those new bills, you can force it to rerun the query and identify any new bills by going to the Query tab and clicking the Save button.
In addition we update the legislator data daily - contact info, staff info, committee assignments. Vote and bill sponsorship data are updated hourly. New legislators are added and legislators removed at the end of their terms or when they step down usually within a day or two.
