We are excited to announce the winners of our first contest. But first, a little background. Initially we invited individuals and organizations to submit a paragraph about how they would use a subscription to BillTrack50 to address an issue they care about. We then opened the site for voting, and our readers chose the winner.  Happily enough, the result was a tie, and we have two great winners.

The first is Adriel Hampton, with Wired to Share, who has done some great work in the past with BillTrack50 and Voter Identification issues. His submission was: Wired to Share is a community of folks interested in open data, government transparency and technical innovation in government. We’d like to use BillTrack50 to track legislation related to these issues.

The second is Robert White with MAPS, and organization interested in issues around using unmanned drones for gathering cartographic information, among other things. His submission was: We are a national association group for the aerial photo, photogrammetry and GIS industries. We hold conferences several times per year to facilitate interactions with senators, representatives, and members.

We are pleased to be able to help both groups track the legislation important to them.  Congratulations guys!
