We’ve always offered bill widgets for you to add to your webpages and blog posts to help keep your readers informed with up to date legislation information. Now we’ve added a way for you to color code your widgets to share which bills you support and which you oppose.

You may recall we recently added a position column option for your bill sheet.  To use this column you need to simply need to add it to your template (you will find the position column at the bottom of the custom column list). Then go through and set your position for each bill you have an opinion on. Once you have done that you will be able to use it to make scorecards as well as color code your widgets.

After you have set up your position column and chosen your positions, go to the widget tab. You’ll see a new option called Position Indicator. Strong support will be dark green, support is green, oppose is orange, strong oppose is red, neutral and monitor is gray, and no position entered has no indicator.

WidgetPosition

Your existing widgets will continue to work as is. If you have an existing widget you would like to add your position to you will need to modify (or replace) the widget code on your website.

As always, let us know if you have any questions. We hope you find this new feature useful!
