Tracking bills across the country? Want to give people a way to see how many bills there are about your subject, in what states? Care about engaging your members and informing them about the national landscape? Our new map widget feature is just what you’ve been waiting for.

Creating this new widget couldn’t be any easier. Open your bill sheet and go to the widgets tab. You’ll see a new choose widgets drop down list at the top of the tab:
Choose the map widget, and you’ll get a screen to customize your map widget:
The most important choice on the set up screen is which template to use for the bill slider. Choosing a template allows you to decide what information you want to share when someone clicks on a state, including if you want to add your own comments along with the bill data. For a refresher about setting up templates and your own comments, see this post. Notice you can also choose the color scheme of your map, to help make it look great on your website.
When you are ready, click on the generate script button to get the script to paste on your site. You can adjust the size to fit your website either on the widget tab or directly in the screen.
